Meet the little boy in Eastern Europe that has stolen my heart:
Carter 14g
As I have rallied around the Preeces and their adoption of Arnold, my heart has been heavy for all these little souls who languish away, tucked alone in sad little rooms, never knowing the love of a family. I was prepared for the emotional rollercoaster of getting involved with these types of things, because its difficult. But I could NOT have prepared myself for the feelings of SHEER PANIC and URGENCY as I looked at this little boy's face. He looks like Spencer to me. And I cannot bear to think of him lost in an institution.
This little peanut is FIVE YEARS OLD. And he is the size of an infant.
Dont you just want to go and scoop him up? Hear him laugh? Rock him to sleep????
It infuriates me that these babies are so deprived of every human right. Food, medical care, love, and most of all - a family.
He has SO MUCH potential. He should be in kindergarten making friends, not learning how to hold a bottle and stand up.
He is innocent and deserves a home. A mama.
I am committed to raising this boy's grant. I have signed up to be his orphan warrior which means I will raise $1,000 by Christmas time. I am pleading for SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE to please adopt him!!!!!! I will help you, every step of the way. If you have a second, please consider putting his button up on your sidebar for me. Maybe someone passing through will click on him and go and rescue him.
The ONLY chance these kids have, is if someone will advocate for them and raise the money required to adopt them. For so many families it is literally only the money standing in their way to going and adopting one of these kids. Its pretty simple, if the money is there, they get adopted. Therefore....I am going to raise his money!!!!
Carter is already 5 years 4 months old. He is lucky to still be at the baby house. He will age out and either be transferred to the terrible mental institution or maybe if he is lucky, to an older child orphanage. Its a small window of time to get him out and home where he belongs. Clearly he is in desperate need of some physical therapy and nutrition. Dont let his current state scare you!!!! He will THRIVE in a family and grow by leaps and bounds once he gets the attention he needs.
This was one of the best most drastic before and after adoption photos I have come across. Look at precious Katie one year ago. Severely malnourished, completely neglected. Fragile and afraid of human touch. Look at those little legs. She was near death.
And this is her today. THRIVING.
Just one year later! Isnt that amazing what love and consistent care can do????
Niles is another little boy on Reeces Rainbow from region 14 (Carter's region). I have no idea where these boys are in Eastern Europe. They might be in the same baby house, they might be miles and miles apart. But he is an adorable loving animated little guy FUL of life, that needs to not be warehoused away! He needs buddies. And memories. A life that involves being tucked into bed at night and taken outside to play. Not ignored in a country where nobody will ever praise him or tell him "i love you!"
Look at his smile! He is still so tiny for being 6 years old!!!!! He too will "age out" of the baby house and is on borrowed time. I cant even begin to tell you how I feel when I think about him losing the only "home" hes ever known and being put in an institution. Imagine putting your 6 year old in a dark, dirty, lonely, place with no toys, books, caretakers, or even consistent feeding and bathing. Its unbearable.
Oh Niles. I will try my best to keep your face in the light! Somebody will love you! And cherish you!!!
Dont lose hope buddy :)
I know for many of you, this stuff is sad and more than you can bear. If you cant bear to SEE IT and READ ABOUT IT, can you imagine being forced to LIVE IT? So many people have reacted with disbelief at my involvement with the Preeces. But I dont think it takes being the mother to a disabled child -- to realize the suffering that these children endure has GOT TO STOP. I dont have to have firsthand experience to know that these children need families. If you believe in the plan of happiness, the eternal nature of families, and the innocence of precious children ESPECIALLY those born with disabilities....I just wonder why EVERYONE isnt OBSESSED with getting these kids adopted!!!!!
So enough with my soapbox :) But I want to put this out there for ANYONE reading this --- if you have the heart and desire to even CONSIDER adopting one of these kids - I WILL HELP YOU! Dont let the cost frighten you. Dont let the worry paralyze you. There is an entire network of families that have SUCCESSFULLY done it! You will have support. The mountains will move :) Ive seen it with my own eyes.
If you cant adopt, if its not right for your time of life, or current circumstance - maybe you can pick one and ADVOCATE for them! All it takes is one person fighting to get them out. Raise whatever funds you can (Ill help you!). Christmas is around the corner and its a perfect time to ask for donations for your little angel. You could literally save their life, just by posting a picture. Maybe just pray consistently for one child. Just one!
Sorry for the bombardment of orphan related posts that have taken over this blog! I just feel like if it werent for my friend Kecia who had posted stories and pictures on HER blog 2 years ago, I never would have known about it. So im posting this here....just in case someone I know was meant to see it.
My little boys in region 14 will be the focus of my efforts until their grants are raised and families have stepped up to get them! Please please spread the word that these kiddos have someone dedicated to helping them get adopted! If you want to join me, visit Reeces Rainbow and pick a child to advocate for! It just takes a second to grab their picture and say "Ill try to help this one".

Christy you are amazing. I love that you are getting so involved finding homes for these adorable little boys. Prayers for them and for a family to be inspired to take a second look.
Amazing pretty much sums it up! You are an angel. Let's have Sunday dinner soon. I have to hear all about it!
Oh how I wish I could adopt little Niles! Maybe when these babies get a little older. You make me cry when I read these stories, it just breaks my heart. Let me know if there is ever anything I could do to help!
Christy,
I've just spent a half hour reading here and Boise Hope about what you've been doing and I'm in tears. I'm so impressed. What a beautiful way to reach out to others. I just want to hug you!
We've totally thought about adopting when Miles is a year or two older. I'd love to talk to you about it!
Anyway, thank you so much for your support of the book! I'm totally terrified about it, but I'm really hopeful that it will do some good for Jayden's family.
HUGS!
Christy, where do I start? I'm blown away. I want to help. We are in the process of filling up our "Christmas jar" (you've prob read the well known book) & would like to donate whatever ends up inside it to that little guy or any of them really. So awful! That before & after pic is crazy. Anyways, as Christmas gets closer I'll keep you posted so that I know where to send the $ to.
