The Genetic Lottery....

Gabe as a new baby
Gabe as a very serious toddler
Unfortunately, this is me as a small child. My mother claims I was cute, but I kept cutting my own hair.
And me as a new baby
I dont think Im unlike other expectant mothers - who worry CONSTANTLY that their offspring will end up coming out looking like a hideous monkey. I thought Id dig up these old pictures of Gabe and I, to see how cute or tragic we were as children - and attempt to guess what our baby is going to look like. My number one hope/prayer is for some dark hair on its head when its born. It can have crossed eyes, club feet, or even weigh 11 pounds for all I care. But PLEASE let it not be BALD! My sister claims that those sweet blessed pregnancy hormones trick you into thinking you give birth to the worlds most genetically gifted/ beautiful baby ever! And that it isnt until when they are around 3 months old, and your brain starts to function again, that you realize maybe it wasnt as cute as you once thought. But by then, you already love it so it wont probably matter! I guess if it turns out as badly as I am fearing, that it can have a killer wardrobe to compensate. And Gabe and I both agree, at the very least we'll make sure it has a dang good sense of humor. Because you can get away with being unfortunate looking as long as youre ridiculously funny.
* Small disclaimer - I promise that I will like my baby no matter what.

Lets be MORE honest, you will ADORE your baby mainly because there is truly no way that it could inherit anything unfortunate from either you OR Gabe. Sucks to be really, really good-looking. I should know.
That said, how hot is Gabe's MOM after just having a child! I hope the baby takes after her...no?

So, everybody keeps saying how our baby is going to be so cute... Really, we get that a lot (c'mon, look at us)... But every time I hear it all I can think is "PRESSURE!" How can something be stuck all squished in a tiny ball for nine months and come out cute?

Also, thanks for the disclaimer that you'll like your baby. You can never tell with people like you, who try to find HOMES FOR KITTENS and such.

I would think if your that worried about how the baby comes out, you would have considered genetic engineering[j/king]. Don't worry the baby will be perfect no matter what because she or he will have a large family to love it no matter what.

Even if you have a large, bald, boy, we know his future as lead Rock Band singer is secure. P.S. Grace had adorable hair, but then we all recall her chemo stage where it rubbed off in patches- is it better to have loved and lost- or to have just been born bald? I submit to you.

I feel you on the baby appearance, except I think I'm worse than you. I keep wondering if she's gonna look brown, white or a crazy mix of both-who freakin' knows. But it's true what Jay says I haven't met a mother yet that doesn't absolutely think her baby is adorable no matter how chubby, bald or different looking they are. Mom’s want everyone to see all the cuteness they see in their babies. It’s just in our genes or something. Okay, that’s all I’ve got to say about that. Later, Di

This is so HILARIOUS!!! I have never seen baby pics of you two. My favorite is how Gabe has more hair then you, as a toddler. I love the reversal :)
