Brigitte gets a tree

So about a month ago Gabe decided our front yard was in dire need of a beautiful tree to change colors for us this fall. He went out and bought it under the premise that "brigitte needed it'. Whatever. All I know is now we have a tree that will hopefully one day shield my bedroom from the sweltering sun! Its pretty scrawny now, but someday...gabe assures me it will be 40-50 feet tall, and 30-40 feet wide. He explained that Brigitte needed it to swing from its branches as a child, to sneak out of the house when she is a teenager. And that she will one day carve the name of her first love in the trunk.

And then he insisted we photograph her in front of it. As you can see, she was less than impressed with her tree...

Such a beautiful house, tree, family and daughter! She did need a tree! How good of you to enable her monkey business with it!

So cool, the tree will be a gift for everyone. Last week Bella and I read a children's book called: The Oak within You or the Oak withing the acorn" by Max Lucado, it was very sweet. Your tree reminded me of this book, it's at the library so go get it, you will love Brigitte's new tree!

It's a very lovely tree. I hope you pointed out to your dear husband that by the time that tree can be swung from or climbed upon Brigitte will be in college and possibly not inclined to hang out in trees.

I don't know Kels--Brigitte is going to be a tiny dancer and gymnast, so she will probably be able to use it for shenanigans even if the tree is little when she's old enough to be up to shenanigans.

So how long would you say I have before this tree blocks the view of your bedroom window....J/K....but seriously, how long?

That's the sweetest thing I've ever heard, what a good daddy! You should take a picture of Brigitte with her tree every year to measure their growth together :)

And for a homeless man, Bob does seem to get around pretty well so I would invest in some good blackout curtains if I were you . . .
