A little story to terrify you

So today a rare thing occurred: Brigitte took a nap. AND Spencer took a nap. AT THE SAME TIME.
Be careful friends - this could mean the world is about to end.

Spencer woke up first so I quickly brought him downstairs so he wouldnt wake up Brigitte. I popped him in the high chair, turned on baby einstein, and handed him a bottle. He was only half awake so he was pretty zoned out.

I went into the laundry room to throw the clothes in the dryer. While I was sorting laundry I heard Brigitte call out for me: MO-MMY! So I yelled back: JUST A MINUTE BRIGITTE!!! Because the baby gate was up and I knew she couldnt get over it.

Just 30 seconds later I heard her again - only frantic: MOMMY! HURRY!!! COME HERE! So I left the laundry room, turned the corner - and saw Spencer STANDING UP in his high chair, turned around backwards, leaning forward over the back of the chair. I seriously grabbed him seconds before he would have fallen out and cracked his head open on the hard wood floor.

I was so shocked - and thankful that I hadnt ignored Brigitte's screams to hurry out! I turned around to let the baby gate down.....and then the horror set in.

BRIGITTE WASN'T THERE!!!!! I stood there for a second, baffled. Then listened to see if she had just gone back upstairs to her room to play - but nothing. Just silence. So holding spencer, I crept up the stairs and sure enough - she was still. sound. asleep.

I am NOT making this up! A small child had YELLED for me. TWICE. And they had to have been down the stairs because I was in the laundry room with the dryer going and there is no way I would have heard it if they had yelled for me from upstairs.

For once I can honestly say that I am grateful that the ghost was watching.....Even if im not going to be able to sleep tonight! But I will say this - hearing it is one thing - if I ever SEE it Ill probably be checked into the looney bin. Here's to hoping THAT day never comes!

I didn't know having "Brother" could be so useful!!

But still, he's not welcome at my house.

I don't want any he--she ghosts roaming around here!

I have goosebumps the size of watermelons right now. I think your little friend deserves a pat on the back and a treat. Why don't you leave some cookies and milk on the back porch (away from the kitties) and then lock the little bugger outside! Scary! Maybe it was the spirit though??

Ghost, are you kidding, that was your guardian angel straight from heaven. Thank goodness they are watching out for you, an answer to our prayers.

Clearly I need to move my accident-prone children into a more 'haunted' home!

Seriously, though, I think the 'still, small' voice opted for 'very audible' on this one - and thank goodness you listened!

should get a digital recorder and use it to see if your ghost has more to say.

So when you said "terrify you", I really thought as I was reading that you meant Spencer almost fell out of his high chair. NOT...."terrify" me with that ghost child living in your house situation. So far it seems that your ghost child likes to play with Brigette (sp?)...and she calls him "goat"?, likes to turn on lights and dump all your laundry on the ground in the middle of the night, I know you've told us more. I'm officially terrified ;/

Guardian Angel; ghost child; whatever it is - we're glad its helping you :) that is really scary! I'm with Jayna though - please keep it at your house... unless it wants to do laundry again!

Well just be glad they aren't throwing fire extinguishers at you from across the garage... I would trade you if I could; for the life of me I can't figure out how to exchange my ghost for a new one.

this is cool, not terrifying.

Christy was doing some research and if you want to know what is really going on. Get a digital voice recorder and ask it.
