We blessed Benett on sunday and had the most fantastic day! My parents came down from Garden Valley and my In-laws were able to make it from Arco, and everyone except a few of Gabes siblings were there. We had about 40 people total all smashed into my living and dining rooms. Crazy, but I just love getting together and eating with everyone!
The food was particularly delicious since I picked the menu and only made foods I was craving! We had breakfast muffin melts, apricot glazed meatballs, toffee dip with apples, butter tarts, bagels with bacon onion spread, cheese pesto torte, and fizzy breakfast juice. I gained 5 pounds but it was worth every single calorie!
Gabe as usual gave a very articulate and sincere blessing. I may be a little biased, but it was one of the best Ive heard! My brother in law Tyler summed it up well when he commented that "Gabe is getting pretty good at these blessings...because he does one every year!".
Poor Spencer was so sick and we had to drag him to church. He bawled through the entire sacrament meeting which was a real treat. I had lofty dreams of getting an acceptable christmas photo taken while we were still in our church clothes, but sadly this was the best we could do:
I didnt even take any pictures of just Benett in his blessing outfit! What kind of mother am I??! He did look awful cute in his little sweater and pants.
We are so very glad to have Benett in our family! He is so much fun and we are enjoying having a new little baby around to love on. Plus, it is rather convenient to have a real baby Jesus for our Christmas nativity this year!
