Benett's Blanket

I saw this tutorial on Aesthetic nest and had to give it a try. Benett was due for a blanket (ive made all my kids one) so I picked out this adorable peacock fabric and went to work.

Oh man, Im not sure I will ever love anyone enough to make them a blanket like this! It was a nightmarish experience, and also the feeling JUST returned to my "cutting hand" that has been numb for 2 days since its completion. This blanket is INTENSE.

It requires 4 pieces of fabric, one hour of prep work drawing 1/2" lines over and over again, roughly 6 hours of repetitive sewing, and then 3 hours of excruciating cutting. Then you have to bind it and wash it. Its quite the process and I feel truly VICTORIOUS now that its done!!!

I LOVE IT! Its soft and big and I hope Benett will keep it forever and ever, because if not I will never recover.
It photographs terribly, but you get the idea... its MUCH cuter in person.

The back is "faux chenille"
Im in love with this Chevron one and might just have to try it!

Love, love, love the blanket- although I don't have 1/2 the energy to attempt anything that amazing. Way to go! Will you spill the beans where you got the fabric? I've been fabric shopping for days and have not run into that little number! Love it! Let's get together soon. Maybe this Sunday at Andrea's? I'll get back to you!

Love the Blanket - Molly's favorite animal for awhile was the peacock. And it's like the ONLY animal at the zoo that isn't in a cage, so we had to HUNT for it all over the entire zoo till we found it. Sheeesh! I also love the other post about your recap of Beal Family happenings :) Your kids are adorable and I can't get enough of Bennett's cute smiles and how he'll sleep if ignored for 10 minutes. Thank goodness #3 is an easy child, our little Tyler is the exact same little piece of heaven and our fingers are crossed that it only continues as he gets bigger.

First of all, that blanket is darling. Benett better TREASURE it for how much work went into it!

Secondly and totally unrelated, there is a hilarious satire blog that I read and I think you would love. It's written 'by' Suri Cruise and it's her views on other Hollywood babies and children and I die laughing. Here's the link: http://surisburnbook.tumblr.com/ Let me know what you think...
